The quote comes from Bungie creative designer Luke Smith, who followed up with plans for adjusting the rewards given out to players for accomplishing the Nightfall Strikes, arguably the most challenging missions available in Destiny.
“Nightfall rewards can feel underwhelming” Smith said on Twitter. “Runes/low # of coins/no reputation burst/weak legendaries all feel like losing. We’re gonna fix it. While the Taken King received praise from critics and fans alike, the adjustments made to Nightfall Strikes were criticised, as guaranteed reputation buffs had been removed.
It should also be noted that instead of receiving reputation buffs, players would be guaranteed a random item drop on completion of the Nightfall Strikes, which could range from rare Strange Coins to something entirely worthless. While Smith hasn’t provided any specifics on how this problem will be encountered, he has assured fans that Bungie are working to remedy the situation.
Destiny: The Taken King recently launched to critical praise, and Bungie later introduced microtransactions for fans to purchase emotes through.
