Bungie responds to new Destiny microtransaction concerns
Starting this week, Destiny has introduced real money microtransactions, to no shortage of complaints and fears from fans. While currently only offering emotes, the microtransactions system has come under even more scrutiny as players (via IGN) have found references to new experience booster and drop-rate boosting items in the game’s code.Responding to these concerns, game director Luke Smith took to Twitter saying, “We aren't (nor are we planning) on selling consumables that buff King's Fall drop rates for Silver.”

While the lack of a denial for the new experience boosters (which seem to fully level an entire subclass) is notable, the items would not be outside the realm of possibility. So far, it had only been stated the microtansactions would be optional, not solely cosmetic.
