If you open the Xbox Store or Amazon hoping to preorder a digital copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, you might not like what you see (or in this case, don’t see).
Digital versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 have been removed from the above-mentioned marketplaces, though Microsoft claims it is “temporary.” Activision commented saying they had no part in the removal of the title. A representative for the company stated, “Activision did not remove the digital version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III from the Xbox Games Store.”
In a statement to Polygon, Microsoft stated that the company is “actively engaged with Activision to return it as soon as possible,” they said. “We do not comment on the specific terms of our arrangements with any of our publishing partners.”
Digital copies of the game already preordered at this point will function properly when the game launches in November.
The game’s product page lists digital versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to be “bundle only” and directs players to “your local retailer” for a copy of the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 still remains able to preordered through the PlayStation Store.
Where will you be playing Black Ops 3 when it hits on November 6?
