As spotted by Game Informer, many of the top spots on the PlayStation charts for paid add-ons are taken by Destiny’s Silver currency. The only other add-on that is doing better than the Silver currency is Destiny’s latest expansion, The Taken King.
The most popular Silver bundle for Destiny is the $10 option that comes with 1,100 Silver. The other options, the 2,300 Silver ($20) and 500 Silver ($5) are also in the top 5 on the chart. The only non-Destiny add-on that is in the top five is the Minecraft: Story Mode season pass.
Players are able to spend their Silver on emotes, including new ones that released this week as part of Destiny’s Halloween event, Festival of the Lost, as well as other items through the Eververse Trading Company in-game store. It is unknown whether or not Bungie will sell anything other than emotes for Silver at this time.
Destiny is available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. There is no word on how Destiny’s microtransaction are doing on Xbox platforms. Bungie has also announced an in-game costume contest for Halloween, which gamers can enter through Twitter. You can see about that here.
