Dying Light’s upcoming DLC expansion, The Following, will be released early next year.
Developer Techland announced that the zombie title’s next expansion will release in the first quarter of 2016. In its official statement, the developer stated that the 2016 release will give them “enough time to put in all the content and surprises we have planned.” The statement also says that a specific release date has not been chosen yet, and that the developer will share “the exact day of release as soon as we get a final decision.”
The Following is a story-based expansion that sees protagonist Kyle Crane travel to the outback. There he meets cultists who have information on the zombie outbreak. The Following will also add vehicles, including a customizable dirt buggy. Techland has called the buggy the title’s “deadliest weapon yet.”
The Following will be included in the Dying Light DLC pass. Those who did not purchase the pass can get The Following for $15.
Dying Light released in early 2015, and broke Techland’s sales records. Dying Light outsold Techland’s other zombie hit, Dead Island.
