G2A banned from sponsoring League of Legends events
For some time now G2A has been annoying game developers while simultaneous bringing affordable gaming to a lot of people. For anyone unsure who they are they resell game keys that users have acquired, whether they were obtained through reputable means or not. They often sell these keys without permission from the game developers and no money from the sales ends up making it's way to the developers. So it's understandable that they raise the ire of the people behind the games they sell and now Riot has had enough. The G2A logo has become commonplace at major League of Legends E-sports events, alongside merchandise and all over the streams that League players put out as they offer ways to buy accounts and buy level boosts to let players bypass the grind and jump in straight at the top of the levelling system. This has been a major topic in League of Legends before and will likely come up again in the future. So Riot, developers of League of Legends, have banned all association with the website from their live events and banned the site from sponsoring and League teams as well any other branding to do with the game.

In a post on /r/leagueoflegends, the Developer Relations/3rd Party Ecosystem Manager at Riot J. Eckert said this:
“…we’ve already formally banned them as a sponsor as of September 18th, and have no plans to reconsider the decision at this time.
This was NOT a decision we made lightly, and came after many weeks of back and fourth conversations with G2A to find a resolution, which we were not able to reach an agreement on. We do not at all enjoy affecting the income of the teams, but the LCS rules include guidelines specifically against this sort of thing. We did however keep teams in the loop during the process in an attempt to avoid any surprises.”
