Hyrule Warriors Legends has two new playable characters including Skull Kid
It would seem that Hyrule Warriors Legends on the Nintendo 3DS won't just have Tetra, King Hyrule and Toon Link. There were even more that had to be unearthed and aired out for all to see: Skull Kid and Phantom Ganon. Don't fret, the Wii U version of the game won't get shafted completely as the 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors will also contain a code that will allow Wii U players to get these new characters and items. Though, there has yet to be word on whether or not these extras will come as purchasable DLC for people who don't want to be a $50+ 3DS game for it.

Although it is not 100% certain that Phantom Ganon will be a playable character, he will no doubt be a boss during the game. Skull Kid however is very much a playable character and will be utilizing an ocarina and his sidekick fairy Tael. Skull Kid’s appearance marks the third character from the Majora Mask game to be represented in Hyrule Legends alongside Young Link who uses his masks and the omnipresent Tingle. The Phantom Ganon presented in the Famitsu scan shows off the image for the Ocarina of Time variant with a horse instead of the Wind Waker version.
Hyrule Warriors Legend is slated for release in the western market in early 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. Now where’s my Groose? This is getting ridiculous now. The Groose needs to get loose!
