J. J. Abrams to dictate final cut of The Force Awakens
The recent revival of Star Wars has created a cautious fanbase. On the one hand, Star Wars outside of George Lucas might do the IP some good. Yeah, yeah,” the director stated when asked if he was given the final cut of the film, but also admitted, “When you do a Disney project, there’s a clause in there that you kind of go, ‘Well, if I were a lawyer I could probably drive a truck through it….’”
It’s awesome to see Disney giving their directors that much free reign on the movies they create. Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases in theaters on December 18th, 2015.
