Earlier this week, the League of Legends World Championship got started up in Paris, and it has been streamed by over 1 million people concurrently on Twitch.
This doesn’t even begin to take into account the millions of viewers that are using various other streaming services such Youtube, Longzhu, and Douyu.
The 16 greatest teams from Brazil, North America, China, Taiwan, Europe, Korea, and Thailand have come together to battle it out, and fans have gathered en masse to watch.
It’s interesting to see just how big LoL, currently the biggest name in eSports, has gotten. The tournament will take place in several cities across Europe.
The round-robin event is currently taking place in Paris, followed by the bracket event On October 15 in London’s Wembley Arena. The tournament will continue on into the Brussel Expo in Brussels. Grand finals will take place on October 31 in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin.
