Minecraft developer Mojang recently announced that they will be adding support for Oculus VR. The new feature is scheduled to come next year, with no specific date as of yet. The two companies announced their partnership at the Oculus Connect conference.
Oculus founder Palmer Luckey reminisced on his time playing Minecraft instead of doing college homework as he unveiled the integration. Mojang’s Lydia Winters went into more detail explaining that with the Windows 10 Edition of Minecraft, Oculus support will be added.
This version of Minecraft will be available on both the Windows Store and Oculus Store. For any current Minecraft owners, you can still get the new version for free! Just login to your Mojang account, click ‘Redeem’, and claim it on your Microsoft account.
