Fallout Shelter, Bethesda’s pretty successful free-to-play mobile game, has just received some more content with its 1.2 update.
Revealed in the video above, the post-apocalyptic shelter simulator now has a new mode. The text in the update from Bethesda states, “faced all the challenges the ‘normal’ Vault simulation can provide? Introducing Survival Mode! More danger, more glory. Make Vault-Tec proud!” There are also new UI and quality of life changes like being able to skip the tutorial, being able to loot any defeated enemies, cloud save support, a new statistics page in the Vault Dweller’s Guide, and having an opportunity of finding the Mysterious Stranger and getting caps from him.
But if you’re lucky to be playing this game on the iOS, the update also includes a new character from the upcoming Fallout 4. If you take advantage of a special offer, you’ll obtain five free lunchboxes and the new vault dweller, Piper, a no-nonsense truth-seeking journalist that can handle herself in a fight.
All in all, this is a very nice breath of life for Bethesda’s game and some sly advertising for the next installment in the series. Fallout 4 is coming out November 10th for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
