Nier New Project is being developed mostly by Platinum Games.

Nier New Project (the title will most likely change) was first announced at E3 2015. People assumed that both Square Enix and Platinum Games would be developing the game together. However, this is not the case, but this may not be a bad thing because Platinum Games is a fantastic game studio.

According to GameSpot, “the game is essentially an in-house Platinum project that’s being directed by Taro Yoko, the Square Enix staffer who also directed the original.” The fans will be relieved to hear of Taro Yoko’s involvement with the game. In a previous interview Yoko stated, “Platinum Games is a great company, so as far as I’m concerned, my job is sort of done as well.” Showing that he has great confidence in Platinum Games.

Nier New Project will be a third-person RPG, and the sequel to a cult hit. The original Nier was released in 2010, the game was weird, and Yoko assures fans that the new installment will be weird too.
