Thousand-Year Door, which was released in North America on October 11, 2004 on the Nintendo Gamecube, is considered one of the best games on the system and frequently is mentioned as a contender of one of the best RPG’s of it’s generation.
Following in the footsteps of it’s predecessor, Paper Mario on the Nintendo 64, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has everyone’s favorite plumber running around trying to save Princess Peach (and y’know, the world) from the evil X-nauts. The Paper Mario series, well known for it;s art style, is in top form in the series’ gamecube iteration.
Many consider the series to have dropped off after The Thousand-Year Door, with the Wii’s Super Paper Mario and the 3DS’ Paper Mario: Sticker Star being received much less excitedly by fans. No matter where the series goes, however, everyone still loves The Thousand-Year Door.
