Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, has expressed his desire for the next entry in the Gran Turismo series to support PlayStation’s upcoming virtual reality headset.
In his interview with Eurogamer, Yoshida discussed what would work well with the device. He claimed that many trial tests have been performed with the device in order to determine which genres were best represented in virtual reality. “One of those genres is racing games,” he said. “So when Gran Turismo comes out on PS4, I’d like to see it support PlayStation VR, yeah.”
While this news in no way confirms that Gran Turismo 7 will support VR, it’s promising that the president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios wants the platform supported by one of PlayStation’s highest selling brands.
