Now available, patch 3.0 brings a massive helping of changes, tweaks, and delightful surprises to Starcraft II, the chief among them being that every player now has access to the previously pre-order locked Legacy of the Void Prologue missions.
Originally released back in June for those that had pre-ordered the game, the three missions, focusing on the character Zeratul, bridge the stories of Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void. These missions, titled “Whispers of Oblivion,” are now available to everyone, under the Legacy of the Void campaign.
Other notable changes include Legacy of the Void’s co-op game mode, Archon Mode, in which two players control one army, now being available, a newly designed user interface, a complete reworking of the in-game chat system, and even a small number of general gameplay tweaks. You can find the full, rather lengthy, list of changes here.
Update 3.0 comes ahead of Legacy of the Void’s release, scheduled for November 10th. Just last week, Blizzard detailed the Legacy of the Void Collectors Edition.
