The Witcher 3 visual effects artist amazed at game's success
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, developed by CD Projeckt RED, achieved unexpected success according to visual effects artist José Teixeira. According to an interview conducted with MCV, Teixeira notes "We are still amazed at how many people played The Witcher 3, because it's a game style that is usually reserved for hardcore audiences." He continues "People actually loved it, especially more in the casual audience, which we're really impressed with."Teixeira relates the success of The Witcher 3 to the game's length and story driven properties. "The Witcher 3 proved the point that players are more interested in longer games. . . [t]here's no multiplayer, there's no microtranscations: you get a game, play the game, and enjoy the game, and it's a great success."

Teixeira, while close to the series, has “no idea” where the franchise will go next.
