Dedicated wastelanders have used console commands to scour the games data for secrets, to great success. So far players have discovered a hidden developer room as well as a unused harpoon gun.
Bethesda is less than thrilled about console usage and has warned against it. Bethesda marketing manager Pete Hines was asked on Twitter if console players will have console commands available to them anytime soon.
“Nope,” Hines replied, adding that “use of the console is not supported or recommended on PC. that kind of thing isn’t permitted on consoles anyway.”
When asked why by another fan, Hines tweeted that messing around with console commands could possibly corrupt a save file, which would be quite disconcerting in a time-sink like Fallout 4.
Meanwhile, Fallout 4 continues to be a smashing success, having shipped 12 million copies to retailers on release day, and breaking Steam concurrent player records.
