Despite a HD version of the original Mortal Kombat never seeing the light of day, this week we got to see an idea of what it may have looked like.
Kombat creator Ed Boon recently posted an image showing off the game on his twitter account and also revealed some information on the unreleased game. “Hi-Res Kombat …. one of these days I’ll post an article explaining how the MK HD edition never came to be…..,”
However as mentioned by Game Informer there is no clear indication as to whether or not the image is an actual screenshot but merely a piece of concept art.
Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm have stated that they will continue to support their latest release, Mortal Kombat X, with some additional DLC coming in 2016.
