Faker renews contract with SK Telecom
SK Telecom has recently announced that they have successfully renewed their contract with Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok.After coming off of their second ever World Championship title, the SK Telecom organisation was quick to announce their intentions to keep Sang-hyeok who has been an integral part in their success. However, an emerging pattern of successful Korean League of Legends players moving to Chinese teams had both fans and the SK Telecom organisation worried that Sang-hyeok may leave for a Chinese team able to offer him a greater salary.

However, an emerging pattern of successful Korean League of Legends players moving to Chinese teams had both fans and the SK Telecom organisation worried that Sang-hyeok may leave for a Chinese team able to offer him a greater salary.
After Samsung Blue’s World Championship in 2014, the entire team moved to play in the Chinese League of Legends scene. Only Gu “Imp” Seung-bin saw any real success, being the only player to return to the World Championship in 2015. Despite this, Seung-bin’s team failed to advance out of the group stages in what was one of the greatest disappointments in professional League of Legends history.
Despite SK Telecom’s success at the World Championship, during this week’s KeSPA Cup SK Telecom lost 0-2 to Ever, a Challenger League of Legends team who qualified for the tournament during an offline qualifier.
Sang-hyeok joined the SK Telecom organisation in February of 2013, showing incredible potential. After his famous Zed outplay against Yoo “Ryu” Sang-ook in Hot6 LOL Champions Summer 2013 be quickly became known as one of the best players in League of Legends.
