With the Fallout 4 release date just 10 days away, Bethesda has released a select number of images from their upcoming book, The Art of Fallout 4. (additional images can be viewed through the link). It’s no secret that the company puts a lot of stock into the artistry and world building of their games, and Fallout 4 is quickly proving to be no exception. In the opening statement of the book, lead artist Ivan Pely says “After years of living in this place, our playground and our home, we open the gates and invite millions to enter and play.” In the multi-paragraph statement, Pely describes the artistic process and gives much needed credit to the concept team, as well as the other disciplines in Bethesda Studios, showing that this game is truly a team effort. He goes on to say “This book is an opportunity for us to share with you a bit of the history behind this world, how it has evolved over those years, and why some of the artistic choices were made.”
The book contains images ranging from apocalyptic landscapes to weaponry. The limited edition will be $85 and is currently on pre-order with an expected ship date of December 22. The regular edition will be priced at $50.
