Avid Guild Wars 2 fan but looking for bigger instances? Well you don’t have to wait any longer – Heart of Thorns brings Guild Wars 2’s first ever raid.
On November 10th, ArenaNet, publisher and developer of Guild Wars 2 announced Spirit Vale, the first major update for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns and the first raid experience. Spirit Vale is one of three raid ‘wings’ that forms the first full raid for Guild Wars 2.
ArenaNet say Spirit Vale will introduce a “new style of challenging content” that will be “unlike anything players have experienced before.” This includes 10-player challenges that promise challenging gameplay and rich rewards, all based on the systems that set Guild Wars 2 apart from other MMORPGs.
Heart of Thorns raids will require unique, real-time combos and weapon and ability changes on the battlefield, without relying on “Ui-gazing” or the “conventional tank, healer and damage dealer trinity.” Basically, Spirit Vale is going to be hard and incredibly unlike traditional raids in others games.
If the thought of downing what are promised as “epic bosses” to get on the path of constructing highly sought legendary armor and thematic rewards like ascended equipment and weapons in 10-man groups is what kept you away from Heart of Thorns, you can look forward to Spirit Vale unlocking on November 17.
