With over 50,000,000 copies sold, and acknowledging the hit manga that started the franchise, the trailer for the game opens up with the beautifully detailed animated rendition of what could be considered the most famous scene from the series: A behemoth hand clutching the top of the outermost, 50-meter tall “Wall Maria”. The images that follow are action packed dynamic shots of the characters around which the story revolves, soaring through the skies on their 3D Maneuver Gear, an invention within the Attack on Titan universe that allows the characters to mechanically Spiderman their way through their city, reaching new heights to combat the Titans that threaten their lives.
With little more than the knowledge of the action-packed story that was the manga and anime, the game itself is anticipated to be equally as thrilling and even more interactive. Koei Tecmo president Hisashi Koinuma states, “Our studios are already pouring all of their passion and excitement into it and we hope to reveal more information soon!”
Attack on Titan (working title) will be available for PS4, PS3, and the Playstation Vita sometime in 2016.
