First Xbox One Backwards Compatible titles announced

Microsoft has revealed the first batch of 104 Xbox 360 games that will be available via the Xbox One's backwards compatibility feature.These titles are the first ones available for all who own them when backwards compatibility launches alongside the New Xbox One Experience update on November 12th.

Microsoft has revealed the first batch of 104 Xbox 360 games that will be available via the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility feature.

These titles are the first ones available for all who own them when backwards compatibility launches alongside the New Xbox One Experience update on November 12th.

The list includes a variety of highlights from across the Xbox 360’s lifetime, including Mass Effect, Borderlands, Assassin’s Creed II, Fallout 3, Mirror’s Edge and the Gears of War franchise in its entirety.

The list includes both full releases like those listed above as well as some Xbox Live Arcade highlights such as Castle Crashers, Halo: Spartan Assault, Plants vs. Zombies and Battleblock Theater. You can even kick it old school with some Banjo-Kazooie or Tooie if you missed them from Rare Replay.

This is only the beginning for the New Xbox One Experience, however. The Xbox Wire site explains that new titles will become available for backwards compatibility all the time – this will begin in December with fan favourites such as Skate 3, Halo Wars, Halo Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops and the Bioshock trilogy.

A disclaimer at the bottom of the page also reminds players that fans can submit titles they want to go back to via the Xbox Feedback site, and states their desire to continue to pump out new titles for the scheme regularly.
