Ys Net has released a 3 month update to Shenmue 3 on Kickstarter, releasing four new screen shots.
The screen shots are of 2 different battle tests, 1 house test, and 1 conversation test. The game is currently in map testing.
Map testing is used to make sure that the environments don’t feel too large (and by the same token, too small) as well as getting the density and amount of NPCs in one area correct.
The full Kickstarter can be read here, but the first paragraph sums up everything you need to know about these screenshots. “Yes, we are in the third month of development of Shenmue 3. The story and scenarios are now out of the planning stage and it is time to get the people, places and things to start fitting together into a world with proper dimension, adequate space, and appropriate scale to keep the feel and essence of all that is a Shenmue game.”
Shemue 3 has an expected release date of December 2017, and will be releasing for the PC and PlayStation 4.
