With the recently ended beta test for Street Fighter V, it hasn’t taken long for players to dive into the game’s files and uncover a wealth of hidden data. This is notably so in the PC version; audio files taken from the beta test have seemingly confirmed the existence of several post-launch characters: Juri, Guile, Balrog, Alex, Uriel, Ibuki, and Fan. As Shoryuken has reported, this confirmation comes in the form of voice clips of the announcer saying the names of the previously mentioned fighters.
This discovery seems to go hand-in-hand with Gamespot’s coverage of last week’s announcement by Capcom of more than six new mystery DLC fighters. Available to all after the game’s release on February 16, 2016, the new characters can be bought immediately or earned through playing the game.
Assuming there is truth to the ‘leak’, there are several interesting points to take note of in the list of new characters. With the addition of Alex, Uriel and Ibuki, Capcom looks to continue the trend from Street Fighter IV of bringing characters from Street Fighter III into the limelight. Fan-favorites Juri, Balrog and Guile make their return; noticeably though is the addition of “Fan”. It can only be assumed that this will be a new character to stand alongside the other newcomers: Necalli, Rashid, and Laura.
For those of you who have a taste for the competitive scene, additional audio files have revealed possible Capcom Pro Tour plans. Tour locations seem to include countries like the USA, Japan, Sweden, Kuwait and beyond.
