As consoles continue to establish there place as entertainment hubs rather than games machines the battle between Sony and Microsoft to provide the best service continues. Playstation Vue is set to add a bunch of new channels as part of a partnership deal with Disney including channels like ABC, ESPN and the Disney Channel to the streaming service on Playstation 3 and 4.
The pricing and launch date is yet to be announced but it will be going into direct competition with Sling TV, available to Xbox One users, which features many of the same channels and only costs $20 per month. Availability will be an issue too as Playstation Vue is currently only available in select markets.
Here is a list of all the channels that will be available as part of the new Playstation Vue Disney package:
ABC Owned Stations Group
ABC Family (becoming Freeform in January)
Disney Channel
Disney Junior
Disney XD
ESPN
ESPN2
ESPN College Extra
ESPNU
ESPNEWS
ESPN Deportes
ESPN Classic
ESPN Goal Line
ESPN Buzzer Beater
ESPN Bases Loaded
Fusion
Longhorn Network
SEC-ESPN Network
With so many different ways to access different television shows and services available now it will be interesting to see how Sony push the Playstation Vue platform going forward. The price point will need to reflect the range of channels available as well as being competitive with other available services.
