Sony: "Third-party deals will continue in 2016"
This holiday season, while Microsoft focused on first-party deals, Sony has focused on garnering third-party deals. Many have thought that this is just a plan to ward off having nothing special for the coming holiday season. However, Sony plans on continuing these third-party deals well into 2016.PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan stated in a recent interview with MCV that co-marketing and exclusivity deals like the ones it already has in place for Street Fighter V, Star Wars Battlefront, and Black Ops 3 will continue to be of vital importance to Sony's future growth.

PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan stated in a recent interview with MCV that co-marketing and exclusivity deals like the ones it already has in place for Street Fighter V, Star Wars Battlefront, and Black Ops 3 will continue to be of vital importance to Sony’s future growth.
We are going to be strong with games that we have developed and we will publish, but third-party partnerships will continue to be important to us,” he said. “The days of a platform-holder working in isolation are long gone. It is a connected ecosystem and relationships with publishers operate on many levels–they will certainly continue to be really important in 2016.”
