GAMESPRESSO – 7/10
“Overall, Star Wars Battlefront is a game that I liked, but didn’t love. Its impressive visuals and incredible soundtrack appease the senses, but after a few hours of game-play, the thrill and nostalgia wears off and you’re left with a game that doesn’t deliver where it matters. A friend of mine said it best: ‘DICE fundamentally dropped the ball when they gave Storm Troopers the ability to shoot with accuracy’.” – Jesse Stafford [Full Review]
EGM – 7/10
“Star Wars Battlefront is a beautiful looking and uniquely entertaining shooter brought down by just not bringing enough to the table. Apart from several balancing issues, there is genuine fun to be found in the moment to moment gameplay, if only there was more of it. This is the right direction, we just need a few more confident steps.” – Nick Plessas [Full Review]
IGN – 8/10
“Star Wars Battlefront captures everything I love most about Star Wars. It’s playful and imaginative, driven by a sense of adventure and fun above all else. By embracing this, and improving on the classic original Battlefront, developer DICE has made almost exactly the Star Wars multiplayer shooter I’ve always wanted. The catch is that this revival comes with baggage, and doesn’t always know what to do with itself.” – Mitch Dyer [Full Review]
GAMESPOT – 7/10
“If nothing else, Star Wars Battlefront is an exercise in pure spectacle, laid out in all of its neon glory. I can’t help but smile when the Boba Fett guns down three fighters in a row from his Slave I ship, or a snowspeeder careens past with flames trailing in its wake. The first 10 hours are packed with these moments, and it’s worth playing just to watch them unfold. But Battlefront doesn’t go much deeper than its ambitious surface appeal.” – Mike Mahardy [Full Review]
EXAMINER – 4/5
“Star Wars Battlefront is at times a Schrodinger’s cat of games, neither a Battlefront norBattlefield, while simultaneously being somewhat both. With incredible visuals, music, and the help of some painstaking attention to detail the game feels as it is one of the best realized Star Wars games in recent memory. At the same time however it weird changes to formulas and a late game sense of want make Battlefront a great game that just needs more to it.” – Joe McCallister [Full Review]
GAMEINFORMER – 7.5/10
“All across the board, DICE favors simplicity, making Battlefront more of a casual experience than the meaty, class-driven competitive shooter the developer is known for. This approach isn’t necessarily wrong, since it allows everyone to jump in and enjoy great Star Wars battles, but the lack of variety limited the time I wanted to spend in my favorite universe.” – Andrew Reiner [Full Review]
