In anticipation of next month’s release for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, several character posters highlighting the main cast have been unveiled by Disney. In order, the posters display Han Solo, Leia Organa, Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren. As is trendy with character posters, the focus is simply on the character with minimal backdrop. There is a common motif amongst these posters however: all but Leia are holding a weapon.
Once again, Luke Skywalker is nowhere to be seen.
According to IGN, J.J. Abrams has stated in a recent interview that the lack of Skywalker in The Force Awaken’s trailers is “no accident”. J.J. is no stranger to keeping aspects of his films under wraps, given his previous behavior with Khan in Star Trek: Into Darkness. With the hushed silence regarding our favorite Jedi, there’s no telling what’s in store.
Patience, my friends; there’s little over a month to go until we can return to that galaxy far, far away on December 18.
