Nintendo announced today that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will release on the Wii U on March 4, 2016.
The game will be a remastered version of Twilight Princess, which originally launched for Wii and GameCube in 2006. This version of the title was developed with Australia-based developer Tantalus.
Alongside the game, Nintendo also announced a new Midna amiibo that also contains Link in his wolf farm from the game. The new amiibo figure will also be included in a bundle for the game when it is released. Nintendo revealed that data will be transferable from the Midna amiibo to Zelda Wii U when it launches in 2016, but details will only be revealed at a later date. The previous five Legend of Zelda amiibo from the Smash Bros. series – Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Ganondorf and Shiek – will also be compatible with the game in some way.
President of Nintendo America Reggie Fils-Amie said the HD version of Twilight Princess will contain “unique features” that will be detailed in the near future.
