In a recent earnings report, French publisher Ubisoft reported the company’s sales for the first half of its 2015/2016 fiscal year.
PlayStation 4 sales topped the list over the last six months at 27% which doubled the 12% that the Xbox One console brought in.
PC games were second on the list at 20% rising from the 15% recorded the prior year and mobile, and other ancillary sales, saw the highest jump from 6% to 18% over the same time period from the year before. More stats can be found in the chart below.
Ubisoft said that the company had €207.3 million in revenue which was above the companies’ target for that period, but they did take a €65.7 million loss compared to a €17.5 million gain the year before.
“The quality of our back-catalog and the growing digitization of our business enabled us to deliver a solid performance in the first half of the year, even though – as planned – we did not release any major titles during the period,” Yves Guillemot, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ubisoft, said in a statement, “The fact that more than 80% of our annual sales are expected to be generated in the second half of the year mechanically weighed on our earnings for the first six months.”
There are still big name titles to be released from Ubisoft on the second half of their year including Far Cry Primal, Rainbow Six Siege and The Division. Recently released Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Just Dance 2016 are not reflected on the earnings report.
