In a recent blog post, Konami outlined some new changes coming to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in the November update.
One of the biggest items in the update is the ability to build a third FOB for a player’s base which will increase the maximum number of staff players can hold.
The update is also introducing Grade 8 weapons into the mix with the WU S.PISTOL CB tranquilizer handgun and the KABARGA-83 automatic shotgun. Grade 8 equipment is classified as online development items, or more plainly, equipment that goes through the development process while players are away.
Kojima will also be adding a new “stealth mode” for FOB infiltrations, easier access to rookie and beginner functions like the chicken hat, and new FOB security devices like gun cameras.
Other improvements include:
- The top rankings for PF Rating and Espionage Rating will now be displayed.
- Whereas until now only resources in your offline inventory could be sold, from now on your online inventory can also be sold.
- The issue with certain DLC uniform equipment not having its advertised effect is now fixed.
- In-game notifications of events and other news have been improved.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released earlier this year for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC platforms. The full list of update notes can be found here.
