What happens when two of the most recognizable superheroes, Batman and Superman, face off on the big screen? Well, a new teaser trailer provides DC fans and superhero movie aficionados alike with a taste of what is in store for the theatrical release of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” on March 25, 2016.
Posted to the official Batman v Superman Twitter and later uploaded to Warner Bros. Pictures YouTube page, the 49 second teaser depicts Batman in a rather tight situation. Suspended by chains in between two other captives, Batman, played by Ben Affleck, stares down a formidable Superman, played by Henry Cavill, as the latter removes the Caped Crusader’s mask revealing his true identity.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” acts as a follow-up to the 2013 “Man of Steel” film. Like the 2013 movie, “Dawn of Justice” will be directed by Zack Snyder, known for other films such as “300” (2007) and “Watchmen” (2009).
“Dawn of Justice” will introduce notable DC characters including Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. Additionally, the film will establish the foundation for two proceeding movies within the DC universe composed of “Justice League Part One” (2017) and “Justice League Part Two” (2019). Both films are slated to be directed by Snyder as well.
