Destiny recently reached its one year mark, highlighting the massive amount of success the sci-fi shooter has gotten.
With devoted fans, Bungie is diving deep into year 2 content for Destiny. This time community managers took to the Blog for Bungie, rather then their social media of choice.
For those of you worried about timed events being the only content in Destiny year 2, that theory was quickly addressed. “To put it bluntly, you seem worried that there won’t be any more substantial content until we ship another full game, or that all of the content for the rest of Year Two will come in the form of timed events.”
In regards to how much you should expect in 2016, Urk(Eric Osborne) was well armed with responses. “There’s a whiteboard in one of our meeting rooms filled with scribblings and sticky notes that represent the developments planned for Destiny’s not-so-distant future.”
As far as the start of 2016 goes, we are going to be looking at events on a scale close to the Festival of Lost. “The second will be far larger than anything you’ve seen since the release of The Taken King.”
In terms of Year 1, it was a long wait for content updates. Waiting five months after December for more updates, this year Bungie is planning on devliering new experiences “at a faster clip”. The updates described so far in the blog post are all currently slated for release in the next 6 months, creating an exciting, and mysterious, Summer and Fall 2016.
“We plan to[tell you exactly what we are making]. While some of next year’s festivities are designed to surprise, like napalm from a newly forged Dragon’s Breath, we’ll also be rolling out pre-planned announcements on several fronts to keep you up to speed.”
