As 2015 draws to a close, mammoth search engine site Google has published various lists showing the most searched-for items for the year under certain subjects. The most relevant subject area for our video game centered site, unsurprisingly, is video games.
And so Google have published a list of the top “trending” games for the year of 2015, and the top result is somewhat surprising. The most searched-for game in Google in 2015 was Agar.io, a free-to-play browser game, in which you play as a cell in a petri dish, aiming to expand in mass by eating other players while simultaneously avoiding being eaten by others.
While that result may be somewhat surprising, the rest of the list is fairly standard, filled with mostly blockbuster games released at various points throughout the year. These include Fallout 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars Battlefront, while also featuring sports simulators such as Madden NFL 16 and NBA 2K16.
