Behold! Robots making Steam Controllers

Check out this video Valve made of their Controller factory. Valve, operator of the ubiquitous PC gaming storefront Steam and developer of Portal and Half Life broke into the PC peripheral market last month with the release of their new gamepad.The new cotroller attempts to bridge the gap between mouse and keyboard control and console style gamepads. The Steam controller mostly does away with traditional analog sticks in favor of circular trackpads in an attempt to emulate the precision of a mouse.

The controller is part of Valve’s strategy to bring PC gaming to the living room. Along with the new steam machine streaming boxes, the controller allows at least some limited use of PCs in a typical living room setting. Time will tell if Valve can drag PC gamers away from their desks and monitors though.
