With only a matter of weeks to go until the New Year, Lionhead has announced that the Fable Legends open beta has been delayed to 2016, while it was previously due to launch at an undisclosed time this year.
“Fable Legends is coming together well and is a lot of fun” Lionhead stated in an official blog post on their website. “But we think that we can make it even better. So we’ve decided to extend our closed beta to continue to listen to feedback from our player and add features and polish that will make a real difference. This means that Fable Legends won’t release into open beta this holiday as previously announced.”
Lionhead have attributed the delay to not realizing just how big the game would be come, needing more time to expand the game, as well as add new Heroes and creatures, as well as Quests to play. Hundreds of thousands of players are reported to have already played the closed beta version of Fable Legends, with Lionhead stating that more would be added in the coming weeks.
Fable Legends will launch in 2016 for both Xbox One and PC, and will be free-to-play on release.
