It was announced this morning that Bethesda Game Studios, the developer behind the widely successful Fallout 4, has opened a new office in Montreal, Quebec. According to the release from the studio, the new addition will help Bethesda expand its “development capabilities in console, PC, and mobile gaming.”
Speaking of the new team, Todd Howard, Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, said, “We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there… It’s exciting to think about the new games we’ll be building together.”
The new studio already has 40 developers at work on console and mobile titles, and is headed by Yves Lachance, most recently the Senior Vice President and Executive Producer for Behavior Interactive, the developer of the Fallout 4 tie-in mobile game Fallout Shelter.
“Our collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios has been an exhilarating and memorable journey already,” Lachance explained. “We are thrilled to be launching the studio in Montreal and contributing our city’s great game-making talent to the kind of games that Bethesda Game Studios is known for.”
