First images for The Witcher 3 expansion Blood and Wine
Hot on the heels of The Witcher 3 raking in the awards, including Game of the Year, at The Game Awards, CD Projekt Red has released the first images of the game’s second expansion, Blood and Wine. Beautiful and bright, the images showcase the new area being introduced to the game, Toussaint, “a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.”Posting on the game’s website, Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said, “2015 is almost behind us. It’s a great year for open world games and a fantastic time for The Witcher. A year of intense work for the team and a time filled with many personal victories for everyone involved in a project that received more than 300 awards so far (wow!)”

Looking forward however, “Blood and Wine, the second expansion for The Witcher 3, is on the horizon. It’s a massive new land to explore, visually unlike anything you saw in Wild Hunt or Hearts of Stone, and it too is brimming with stories we want you to discover.”
Set to run roughly 20 hours, Blood and Wine is about twice as long as the game’s first expansion Hearts of Stone. While no firm release date has been set, the DLC is scheduled to land in the first half of 2016, and is included in the game’s season pass.
Our review of The Witcher 3 called it a nearly perfect RPG, and our review of Hearts of Stone praised its new tragic main tale and applauded the addition of even more unique and interesting characters.
