The PlayStation Originals show Powers is back for a second season and is going “bigger and bolder.” Releasing the first trailer for the new season, Brian Michael Bendis, the original writer of the comic the series is based on, and one of the executive producers and writers for the show, posted on the PlayStation Blog saying, “This season our storyline is focused on the biggest case in Powers’ comic book history: who Killed Retro Girl?”
For those that haven’t checked out season one, Powers follows Homicide Detectives Walker and Pilgrim as they fight to keep order in a world of super heroes. As you can guess, the simple act of trying to arrest people that can fly or punch holes in walls becomes a bit tricky.
Aside from the returning cast, season two will also be introducing Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars), and Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation). But to an even further degree, “Remi Aubuchon, our dazzling showrunner, led the charge of making some significant hires behind the scenes in the areas of cinematography, costumes, stunts, and production design,” Bendis explained. “They’re an incredible group of artists, as I’m sure you can see from the footage in the clip…
“As we speak the show is filming in Atlanta and every day I smile ear to ear because the show looks so good and the actors are giving everything they have.”
Powers is the first scripted PlayStation Originals show, airing exclusively on the PlayStation Network, free for PS+ members. Do you like what you see of season two? Let us know in the comments.
