Minecraft was finally announced to be headed to Wii U on December 17. However, it was recently revealed that the Wii U’s touchscreen gamepad will not be supported for inventory management for the game.
When asked on Twitter, Mojang developer Owen Hill responded that the feature will not be supported, at least not at launch.
“Not at the moment, sorry,” Hill wrote on his Twitter account. “It’s just used as an alternate screen if someone is using the TV. Would be cool though.”
Minecraft is set to launch for Wii U and will reportedly have regular updates for Nintendo’s version of the game. This version will release for $29.99 and comes bundled with six DLC packs. Minecraft is currently available now on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC and Vita.
