New Rocket League DLC has been released as the game reaches 8 million players
It seems Rocket League is doing quite well.Developer Psyonix announced that Rocket League has reached 8 million players. As the game was a free title on PlayStation Plus, it may have not sold that many copies. Regardless, this is a huge milestone for the game, which is now receiving a new DLC pack.

Today Psyonix released Chaos Run, the latest bit of DLC for Rocket League. Chaos Run will cost players $4, and will come with new cars, decals, and more. Also, everyone will receive a new arena for free, entitled Wasteland, which is based on an environment from Rocket League’s predecessor Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. Below is a list of what comes in the update:
Rocket League Chaos Run DLC:
- 2 new Battle-Cars: Ripper and Grog
- 12 new decals (six for each new Battle-Car)
- 2 new paint types (Camo and Sun-Damaged)
- 2 new wheels (Ripper and Grog)
- 2 new rocket trails (Sandstorm, Nuts and Bolts)
- 3 new toppers (Boombox, Cow Skull, Mohawk)
- 3 new antennas (Bomb Pole, Radioactive, Retro Ball-Wasteland)
- 5 new trophies (PlayStation 4) and Achievements (Steam)
Rocket League free update:
- The new, non-standard “Wasteland” Arena
- New, post-apocalyptic theme music, “Scorched Earth,” by Kevin Riepl
- Several new Garage item surprises
Rocket League is available on PC and PlayStation 4. Psyonix has teased that the title may be coming to the Xbox One, though no announcements have been made so far. Along with the Chaos Run DLC, Rocket League will receive Portal-themed DLC for free today, which you can check out here.
