Peter Jackson may be collaborating with Doctor Who
"The Battle of Five Armies" concluded Peter Jackson's trek through Tolkien's Middle Earth, which was not an easy trek as he recounts in some behind-the-scenes footage."You're going on to a set and you're winging it, you've got these massively complicated scenes, no storyboards and you're making it up there and then on the spot."
“The Battle of Five Armies” concluded Peter Jackson’s trek through Tolkien’s Middle Earth, which was not an easy trek as he recounts in some behind-the-scenes footage.
“You’re going on to a set and you’re winging it, you’ve got these massively complicated scenes, no storyboards and you’re making it up there and then on the spot.”
Now Jackson may be on another unexpected journey. In a TV spot of Home Invasion, Peter Capaldi, Jackson, and his daughter, Katie Jackson gave a charming performance implying that Peter Jackson may be directing a future episode or multiple episodes of Doctor Who.
Of course, this little skit is not an official announcement of Jackson agreeing to take Stephen Moffat’s offer to direct. But it gives the fans a teaser of what may come in the future of the show.
“I’m not quite sure what a movie director, that can do anything he likes, gets out of our budget and our schedule,” says Moffat regarding Jackson’s history with big budget films such as Lord of the Rings and King Kong. “The skill set required is pretending you’re Peter Jackson without a budget.”
