The Infamous series from Sucker Punch Studios began on the PlayStation 3 and moved to the PlayStation 4 last year with Infamous: Second Son, but gamers have been left wondering where the future of the series lays.
During an interview with Kinda Funny Games, PlayStation executive Scott Rohde said, “We’re never going to retire an IP. We’re always going to be open to [making more Infamous games]. That’s about the best way I can answer that.”
When it comes to what Sucker Punch is working on, Rohde declined to confirm or deny whether it was a Infamous title, but stated the game is currently playable internally, as he and Shuhei Yoshida have played early versions of the game. However, Rohde added that it is still too early to talk about anything regarding the project, as things could still change.
Rohde also briefly discussed other Sony first party studios, but didn’t provide many details. When asked about Sony Santa Monica, he said, “The smile on my face is because I just can’t wait to tell you about it. [We’re] super excited about the progress, it’s just not the time to tell you.”
Finally, Rohde revealed he recently visited Sony Bend, noting his excitement for their next project. The project is apparently in a playable state, of which Rohde says could be the “shining moment” for the studio.
