The Division’s December beta exclusively on Xbox One has been delayed in 2016.
When it does launch in “early 2016,” the beta will also be available on PS4 and PC.
However, those who have preordered The Division will be given first access to the game’s closed alpha from December 9-12 on an “as-needed basis.”
“This means the moment you and other players sign into the game, you’ll be giving us valuable insight into how our infrastructure performs under pressure that we can’t replicate internally or at a tradeshow,” a blog post from Ubisoft reads.
Those who do participate in the closed alpha will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement prohibiting them from sharing images or video outside of the game’s alpha forums.
“This exclusive Xbox One alpha testing phase in December will be the first time the public gets to play a version of The Division that includes more than the Dark Zone PvP enabled areas.”
Codes for this alpha will begin going out today and will require a 23.2 GB download. A full list of FAQ and answers can be seen here on the Ubisoft Blog.
The Division is set to launch on March 8, 2016 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
