In an interesting move by Twitter, the social media site has reportedly hired Rodrigo Velloso as Twitter’s director of gaming partnerships. Velloso is coming fresh from his similar position at Youtube, which launched it’s Youtube Gaming service this year.
“With his help, Twitter plans to forge relationships with everyone in the gaming community, from developers and creators to event coordinators for conventions like E3 and PAX, and down to individuals like esports athletes and YouTube and Twitch streamers to create content for users,” Hollywood news publication Variety reports.
Velloso released a statement in which he says he’s excited to work with Youtube content creators to “allow them to produce the best content.”
This isn’t Twitter’s first recent foray into the gaming world. Twitter worked with the Game Awards to produce a Twitter mirror that allowed Twitter users to get the best coverage of the event.
