Uncharted 4 voice actors and creator talk about the latest sequel to the Uncharted franchise. Three videos are revealed for the game.
In the first couple of minutes of the video the show a movie scene they already revealed before. If you want to skip right to the new movie scenes of the game skip to 16:45 and 38:20 in the video above. The first two trailers show off the new character to the series Nadine Ross, voice acting by Laura Bailey. The first movie scene shows her interacting with Nathan Drake, and it looks like things are about to get messy with violence. The new scene shows Nadine talking with Sullivan, aka Sully, at a fancy party, and Sully is providing a distraction for Nathan. Sully will also most likely be providing them with information that goes on from within the party, but we’ll have to wait for that.
According to GameSpot, “Ross operates an army-for-hire service called Shoreline. She had a “run-in” with Sully, which is putting it mildly, according to Drake’s longtime friend. She’s seen acting friendly with Sully in this new video, though it’s possible she has other motives.”
The other voice actors that are present are Nolan North, Richard McGonagle, Troy Baker. Nolan North is the voice actor of the Penguin in Batman video game series, Deadpool in multiple games, Desmond Miles in Assassin’s Creed and more.
Richard McGonagle is the voice actor of Victor Sullivan. He also played the President in Justice League: War, and Brainiac from Batman: The Brave and The Bold, and more.
Troy Baker is voice acting Samuel Drake, Nathan Drake’s brother. Troy Baker also voice the Joker in Batman Arkham Origins, Two-Face and Jason Todd in Arkham Knight and more. He is also a new addition to Uncharted 4.
Neil Druckmann, one of the directors and writers of the series, addresses the fact that Laura Bailey, a white woman, playing Nadine Ross, a black woman. He then says after seeing Laura’s voice with Nadine’s character model, he decided to change nothing. He believed both combinations made the character “so right.” He goes on to say the actors’ “physical appearance doesn’t matter at all. If it did, Troy couldn’t play Joel in The Last of Us. Ashley Johnson couldn’t play Ellie. In the movie version they can’t play those roles, and they play them to perfection.” Neil also says he has a black voice actor playing a white character.
Nolan North mentioned that what’s cool about this series is that the characters actually age and help fans identify with them. I also noticed that the characters did look older, and think it makes them feel real. This will be the last game for Nathan Drake, which is unfortunate because the Uncharted franchise is fantastic. But all good things must come to an end. Hopefully, this game will be the best game of the series.
Nolan also talks about how incredibly the designers are that are making the game. He goes on to talk about how they pay attention to even the smallest details of the game.
Uncharted 4 will be coming to the Ps4 in March 2016. However, the beta is currently available to be played, as long as, you have purchased the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
