Destiny promises a larger update after February
Yesterday Destiny announced the first details of the game’s February update, including their Valentine’s Day event Crimson Days. And right off the bat Bungie understood some players would be disappointed.“We know that many of you wanted more news beyond our February event,” Community Manager David ‘Deej’ Dague stated. “Very soon, we’ll have more to share about a second, larger game update that will arrive sometime after February. There are more stories about 2016 that remain to be told, and you’ll learn more as soon as I get my own anxious hands on the full and final details.”

Speaking back in December, when they first announced the new event-based content layout, Bungie explained, “The first of these early 2016 experiences will be on a scale close to Festival of the Lost [the event we now know is 2v2 crucible mode coming as part of the Valentine’s Crimson Days event.] The second will be far larger than anything you’ve seen since the release of The Taken King. There’s also another significant update to the world and sandbox planned in this same window.”
