In the past year or so, the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise has had gamers screaming at their laptops, jumping from their seats, and spending hours on the Internet trying to figure out what it all means. These indie titles have truly made an impact in the video game community. The next piece of the puzzle is just around the corner.
In a post on Steam, creator Scott Cawthon revealed that the RPG spinoff, Five Nights at Freddy’s World, will be released on February 19th. In the weeks after it will also be released for Android and iPhone. A demo will be available on GameJolt, but no date for that yet.
In the post, Cawthon also mentioned some delays that have occurred during the game’s development. “My old faithful computer (which I used to make FNaF 1-4) finally died the other day,” he stated. “I had all of my work on FNaF World backed up, of course, but it’s still quite a delay to get a new machine and reconfigure software, etc. I hope to be back up and running soon!”
The post ended on a happy note with the announcement that his family now has a new baby boy. In fact, he wrote the message from the hospital. It is clear that Scott Cawthon has a dedication to his fans and to Five Nights at Freddy’s. Let’s hope this new spinoff is as fun as the rest of the franchise.
