There was no official reason for this tour. But after his leaving of Konami last December, Kojima has been in the works of starting up his own studio. It is a small company, aptly named Kojima Productions. In his reflection upon completing his world tour, Kojima said this:
“And what I’ve learned the most in this trip: start up the new studio, hire the staff to work with, find the office, construct organization, work on the latest technology, and step into the challenge of creating the new magic. This might sound as if I’m starting over from scratch.”
In regards to Kojima’s game in development for the PlayStation 4 and PC, Kojima hopes that this game will go above and beyond visually. Perhaps this journey was intended for Kojima to obtain the best of the best for his new studio.
Cerny and Kojima’s tour took them to, the SCEA headquarters in California, as well as visited JJ Abrams. In Europe, they visited Media Module Guerrilla Games and Quantic Dream.
Kojima also spoke about the “making of magic”, through all the technological advances the leading developers have created.
“Human resources who can maneuver technology and the environment to pull out their talent is necessary. And the most importantly the vision of the studio has to be accurate in order to embrace technology, human resources, and environment. With all these facts make the latest technology magic.”
